The Copeland EK-083SVV is a premium compacted bead liquid line filter drier with dual access valves, 3/8″ ODF sweat connections, and an 8 cubic inch desiccant capacity. It’s a universal replacement filter drier compatible with CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants including R-12, R-134a, R-22, R-404A, R-407C, R-410A, R-500, R-502, and R-507 — covering virtually every refrigerant in active residential and light commercial service.
The EK series puts filtration first in the flow path, ahead of the desiccant bed, so particulates are captured before reaching the molecular sieve. This maximizes the effective surface area of the desiccant for moisture and acid removal rather than clogging it with debris. The 20-micron outlet pad provides a final filtration stage before refrigerant exits to the metering device. The desiccant blend is optimized for both high water capacity and acid capacity — important on changeouts after a burnout or on systems with older refrigerants that may have acid contamination.
Solid copper connections, corrosion-resistant epoxy powder coat finish, and a shock-resistant steel shell are built for field durability. The dual access valves allow pressure testing and refrigerant sampling at both the inlet and outlet sides without breaking the circuit — a service convenience on systems where diagnostics require checking liquid line subcooling or pressure drop across the drier. Approved for POE oils with Copeland compressors. Maximum working pressure 680 psig. UL/cUL listed. 1-year warranty.
