Springfield M1903 Bolt-Action Rifle

You are considering a vintage Springfield M1903 Bolt-Action Rifle. These rifles were the standard issue bolt-action rifle during World War 1, and they went on to be used as accurate sniper rifles during World War 2. This particular example is in fine shooting-grade condition and doesn’t have any issues to worry about. The wood stock is holding up remarkably well with very light wear from usage, storage, and handling — because of its fitment, it’s most likely not an original stock but it is in very good condition and its coloring matches the forend and top wood. The bolt looks like it may have been a national match bolt as it has an electro-pencil serial number on top that does not match the receiver’s serial — the magazine follower does not include a bolt-stop either. The barrel measures 24-inches in length and includes its front blade sight and rear ladder sight — the bore is bright and shiny with good 4-groove rifling. The barrel is marked SA 12-36 and was manufactured in December of 1936. All the metalwork is in good condition and the action is smooth and locks up nice and tight.
